It’s already March?

Hi everyone. Thanks for dropping by the blog although I’ve got to admit that I’m a little guilty of missing out the last couple of weeks. I’ve been tragically unporductive actually as I’ve speant the last week on leave and impersonating a couch potato. Well more of a bed potato. Actually just a potato! The year’s shooting by very quickly isn’t it? It’s already March. That of course signals school holidays for many parents and of course june holidays are just a couple months away. So while you’re cracking your head wondering where to bring the family, you could also be wondering “if only there was a travel programme on radio to give some suggestions”. Hahah what a coincidence. There is! This Thursday on the Homestretch we’ll be covering a place we hear of all the time, but no very little about. I’m sure you’ve heard of the expression “We’re are we? In Timbuktoo?” Is it even a real place? It is! And you’ll find out about it on Traveling Thursdays! Catch you later!

Alright I know I’m a little late. But Happy New Year and welcome to the year of the Ox. IT’s been a busy couple of weeks with the whole visiting fiasco but I hope you’ve had a wonderful time meeting friends and relatives. It’s back to the grind this week for me with another epsiode of Traveling Thurdays. My partner on the Homestretch Denise has always made me jealous with all the stories of her travels. One of the places she told me about was Iceland which in itself is fascinated because I love cold weather. So this week I decided to bring us on a trip to that winter wonderland. I was blown away by what I found out – You can boil and freeze at the same time. Stay tuned to find out what I mean :) Talk to you soon

2009?

Hi there and happy belated new year! Sorry I haven’t been posting for a while. I didn’t greet the new year in the best of health and have been suffering from a stomach bug and the flu. I certainly hope your new year is going much better though. It’s hard to imagine that we’re already in the year 2009 and forgetting that is becoming very expensive. Drivers will understand how much money in parking coupons you waste when you keep pulling out the 2008 tab instead of the 2009 one. Well it may be a new year but somethings are definitely going to stay the same. For instance, this blog will continue to get updated, Traveling Thursdays with Tim will continue to take you to exotic and interesting places, and Denise and Tim will continue taking you home every weekday on the Homestretch on Gold 90 F.M. Oh and speaking of Traveling Thursdays, just a reminder – If for any reason whatsoever you don’t manage to hear an episode or you want to listen to it again, all you need to do is come to this webpage and click on podcasts. Our team of webmasters ensure that every episode is uploaded as soon as possible after its aired. Can you imagine, we’re already into our 7th week of the programme. Time really does fly. This week, it’s going to be an Italian affair as we explore a beautiful island in the Mediterranean. And as usual, I’ve got an Epson printer to introduce to you so you can find out all about it’s fancy features before you try and win it. Who says Christmas is over eh? :) Alright, I’ll sign off for now but I promise to be back soon. Catch you on the airwaves. Remember – The Homestretch on Gold 90 F.M, 5-9 pm!

Merry Christmas!

Howdy folks. Tim checking in to say a quick hello! It’s been a crazy week with Christmas and all that going on and I hope you certainly had a great one. I know it’s been a good one for me. One filled with friend, family and food! That always makes my Christmas. This weeks also been extra wild for me seeing as I celebrated my birthday over the weekend. Yes another year older, but hardly wiser I imagine haha! Now the next thing to look forward to will of course be New Year. It’s all about the R’s. It’s the time to reflect, to resolve and remember the good and the bad. The good to keep us thankful, and the bad to remind us what to change for the following year. Oh and one more “R”. Relax! That’s right. I’m on a week’s leave so I’m using the next few days to rest and recharge so I can bounce into 2009 full of energy. Of course that doesn’t mean my radio programme “The Homestretch” comes to a screeching halt. My partner Denise will still be on from 5-9pm every weekday and we’ll have another episode of Traveling Thursdays. Plus from what I’ve heard, there’s a new Epson product for you to win too! With that said, I’m off to bed and I’ll chat with you soon! Have a great week ahead and I hope you’re looking forward to 2009. I sure am!

Seven Days

December 18, 2008
posted by timothy oh

It’s 7 days to Christmas. That’s exactly a week. How are you feeling? I’m pretty good albeit a little stressed as I explained in my last entry. The end of the year brings tons of work to complete so this ensures that we work as hard as we party. Ah the world is fair and balenced isn’t it? Looking back on all the events that have passed since last Christmas, I think it’s easy for many of us to tell us ourselves, this period last year was filled with a merrier mood. While this year, especially the last few months have brought many challenges economically and financially for many of us, I think (this may sound cliche) we really should think of those who have a lot less to celebrate than us. Just yesterday, I learnt that contribution to the Boys Brigade Sharity Gift box was far below expectations. I wonder what kind of Christmas those families in need will be having. I’m sure parties and turkeys are the last things on their minds. Perhaps it is a little depressing to talk about this heading into a season that’s supposed to be merry. However if Chrismas really is the season of giving…then I suppose we should start by giving a thought to others. In my travels I’ve visited many countries who’s locals are far from wealthy. I’ve seen streets filled with begging hands and hungry mouths. Yet these countries are also home to some of the most beautiful sights and nature’s greatest gifts. Most of us travel to these countries to sight see. We see the natural beauty. We see the mountains, the parks and the seasides. Yet we close an eye to some of the suffering amonsgt the people. Yes we can go on holidays because we can afford to. But if it’s an eye-opening experience we’re after, then perhaps we should keep our eyes open to everything we see. That’s just a thought for today. In a few minutes I’m about to get behind the microphone with my partner Denise on gold 90 F.M. Today is Thursday which means I’ve got another episode of Traveling Thursday’s with Tim Oh lined up on the Homestretch. It’s an exciting destination we’ve got too! Are you used to climbing, stairs? How bout Trees? Well forget all that because today we’re talking about climbing Volcanos! Oh and by the way, you can access all the past episodes of Traveling Thursdays by clicking on the podcast link at the top of the page. Today we’ll also continue talking about the Epson Stylus Photo TX700W. It’s a really groovy printer with wireless capability and a ton of other features. I’ll also have details on how you can win one too! Wouldn’t that be a great Christmas present? Ok. Time to go but I’ll blog back soon!

Christmas is coming!

December 9, 2008

Hi there! Thanks again for checking out Tim Oh’s little space on the internet. We”ve just come out of a very long weekend and I hope you feel as rested as I am. It’s nice to be reaching the end of the year when the festive mood is in it’s peak. Happy Hari Ray Haji by the way to our muslim listeners of Gold 90 F.M. And of course the next big events coming our way would be Christmas and New Year’s. Have you done all your shopping yet? Actually if you think about it, this season can be quite stressful for many of us. While celebrating is great, preperations are also a little hectic. From doing the shopping, to doing spring cleaning to doing an awful lot of cooking, it’s easy to get swamped. Not to mention all the work we’ve got to finish up before we have our holidays. Still, I think it’s all worth it when we’re finally kicking back to enjoy the festive occasions and parties. Radio land doesnt take a break however. Aside from the good music we prepare for all our listeners on Gold 90 F.M, we also have plenty to offer including Traveling Thursdays with Tim Oh. That’s me by the way. This week I’m going to be covering another great holiday destination, and its also a place I’ve visited recently. In fact, you can even see the pictures I took of my holiday there in the gallery. I’m going to be talking about this beautiful place in Vietnam – Hoi An. Find out about what this quaint little place offers and why you should make that one of your possible holiday ideas. Oh and not forgetting, find out a little bit more about one of Epsons fancy new printers. Incidentally it’s also one that you stand win. Full details this Thursday on the Homestretch on Gold 90 F.M. This is Tim signing out now but looking forward to chatting with you over the radio! Remember to tune in!

Hi everyone and welcome to my second post on this spanking new blog. We’re just a couple days away from the very first episode of Travelling Thursdays with Tim Oh and I’m pretty excited. I’ve been doing plenty of research and you know what? Wow! There really is a beautiful world out there. Just to let you know what you can look forward, we’re going to start a little closer to home with somewhere within South East Asia. I’ve actually visited this country a few times and I’ve had nothing but good memories.

Oh and remember to also tune in because I’ll be talking about the Epson Stylus Photo TX 700W printer. Now there’ll be plenty of important information to take note of so you can answer our special question and win a printer for yourself.

And with that said. This is Tim logging off and getting ready to ride the airwaves on the Homestretch.
