Great we have finished our last challenge, the presentation called Action for Gaia! We came out with a plan called Project Carbon Null, basically a project that engages youth and educate them in reducing carbon emission.

Dear readers!

We just finished our second last challenge! It is to match the questions with the correct answers. Well done to all the teams for getting all correct!!! *round of applause please!*

Our strategy was to input any random answers on the board till all the answers are available on the board, so that we could later rearrange them in the correct order. By this we can save time , though in the end we learned that we are not judged according to speed but just the answers.

At the moment now, Shu Hui is being interviewed by a reporter while Ashsiqqin is blogging. Her turn is soon though!!

The challenge is tough but we will make it!! JIAYOU!!

Hello all! I hope you had a good night sleep!

We just completed the 10th challenge, called It’s a wild life world! It is similar to the game of cherrades whereby 1 team member & a member of the public, which is actually Shu Hui’s uncle, were supposed to act out to the other team member the endangered animal upon hearing hints from the deejays.

We are given 30 seconds to act out and later on another 30 seconds to look for the answers in a box and to place it on a board. The clues given was quite challenging but we still managed to get a perfect score! Plus it does helps as the other team member was able to view the various answers in the box while searching for the correct. So it is an added benefit and we could guess what are the answers for the other questions.

Lastly before deciding the final answers, the jury allowed us to review our answers & after amendments, we got it all right!

This game definitely gets us psyched up for the day!!

Dear faithful readers,

We ended our last challenge for the day earlier just now.

Ashsiqqin had to find a member of the public who was kind enough to agree to play the SPOT ON game.

Basically the game goes like this : We are supposed to identify 5 wrong practices & 5 correct gaia practices in a picture. In the foreground, there is a road with a car emitting black smokes, a person throwing a drink can into a metal recycling bins and a person cycling. Meanwhile, in the background, there is a block showing the various flats, with people doing their daily household chores.

Our team managed to get 8 points after a deduction of 1 point. The deduction was due to a confusion of the picture. In 1 of the flats, there is an aircon that is switched on at 25 degrees celcius and there is no one in the room. So naturally we indicate that the practice is wrong as there is no one in the room, though we know that it is at the correct temperature setting. Our stand was if there is no one in the room, why would we even switch on the aircon.

So currently now we are in the 2nd position. Hopefully we could catch up tomorrow. However no matter what, even if we might not clinch the 1st title tomorrow, our green movement will never stop here. Nevertheless, we are hopeful as we see that being GAIA AMBASSADORS as a stepping platform for us to spread the message and engage the involvement of all.

Do you all know abut hydro planting? It is an effective water saving way to plant your plants. We encourage all readers to inculcate this habit when gardening!

In the 7th challenge, we are given the chance to plant a plant the hydro way. Teams have to place water to the maximum as per the water indicator. The fastest team gets 3 points.

We got 2nd and no points to our disappoinment.

While we were removing soil from the plant, we found that it is indeed hard to separate the soil from the roots, merely due to the reason that the roots hold on to the soil tightly.

We represent the roots, holding on strong with our passion in green movement, which is the soil.

Next on is SPOT ON!!!

Dear all!

Guess what! We managed to collect $50 for the donation! Thanks to Ashsiqqin parents, Mr Buang Eusope & Mdm Sarilah Salim for the kind contribution & your commitment in supporting our green movement all this while!

We are happy that all our hardwork in spreading the awareness to our family members & friends have been fruitful! We really feel a sense of achievement in this challenge. Of course we are happy that we are the leading team again although by 1 point only..

By the way thank you to Mieza for coming and visit us!! We are happy that we have the support from family & friends!!

Greetings all!

We just finished the ECO POLICE challenge whereby we are given some hints then we are supposed to write down what the item is on a piece of paper. If we managed to get the answer right, we would then be allowed to hunt for the item.

Indeed we were not very sure what some of the items are, so we are slightly lagging behind.

Regardless of that, we are still a good team and will not let anything hinder our way. With our passion and perserverance, we hope we can win this challenge!! We would love to pass on our love for mother earth and be the future GAIA AMBASSADORS!!

Remember do not give up dear team mate, we are in this together. No matter what we are together.. REMEBMER together we can make a difference.

Dear all,

Our 4th round was really a tough call, we got third with 1.1L of water collected. Shu Hui ran while Ashsiqqin poured out the water from the pail to our self-made “pail” made of unused magazine. We were given time earlier to create the “pails”. It is made up of 4 simple cones stacked up together, to ensure no sipping through of the water.

We did spill some water during the act of pouring.. SUCH A WASTE!!! We really hoped that the water is either industrial water or rainwater, if not it be more of a waste!

Do you know that you can save 9L of water if you used the shower 1 min lesser?

Bathing using the shower without turning off the tap actually uses 90L of water as compared to turning off the tap while soaping, you would only be using 30L!!! THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE OF 60L!! You can take a bath for 2 more days!!

We do hope that our experience will be an eye-opener to all of you faithful readers and we hope that you take a step and join in the green movement!

yeah, the girl that ifound was very helpful, eventhough she was rushing for time, she still helped to participate. We sort out a total of over 50 trash, which earns us over 50 points! very glad that we won this round that help pulled up our score, very thankful to the girl! ^^V
