Are you KEK?

This zi char restaurant is the bomb! Sooooooo good, I devoured every single dish laid out before me. Great place for family dinners, with a open kopitiam area and a special air-conditioned room with space for 4 big tables. Wonderfully helpful service from Jiamin (the owner’s daughter) and for those who enjoy wine with your meal, you can BYOB and they even have proper wine glasses for you to use…

Their signature combo-dish: Hay Cho (Prawn & pork rolls) and Mingzhu rolls (deep fried taupok stuffed with ham, salted egg, prawn, crab and mushrooms). Served piping hot and super crispy, we were fighting over the last few pieces!

Mmmmmm-mmmingzhu roll!

Incredible garlic spinach taken to the pinnacle of flavour with the addition of crispy, salty ikan billis.

Claypot stewed duck with sea cucumber – an unusual and ultimate comfort food, especially if you like a herby, gamey flavour to your food.

They really know how to cook their sotong here -  it came out perfectly – fresh, crunchy and not  overcooked or rubbery. The smbal was a little too sweet for my liking, but the texture made up for it.

Garlic prawns – simple, satisfying, ’nuff said.

Another signature dish – silky, smooth tofu smothered in a spicy minced meat and chye poh sauce. Sooooo yummy with a steaming bowl of plain white rice

Salted egg yolk crab. Sweet, juicy and the sauce was so good, I was liking it off the shells.

Claypot liver – went so fast, I barely had time to snap a picture!

Other must-tries are their fried mee sua and crispy chicken.

The food looks so shiok. The photos are so clear I feel like sticking my fork through the computer screen and having a taste.
