辜姓起源
据《桃源儒林辜氏》载永春林正，字达中，被诬害，囚于狱中，后为唐太宗赐为辜姓。
辜氏始祖正公，字达中，生于隋炀帝大业六年（公元610年），岁在庚午四月初二日，家居莆田太平村永定里（现名尊贤里北螺村）。
正公原姓林。乃比干之子林坚公之后裔，闽晋安林氏始祖林禄公之十三世裔孙林效诚（字允谦）公之孙。
正公，二十二岁中举人。唐贞观八年（公元634年）甲午科进士及第，授江南道（包括今浙江、江西、湖南等省）观察使。（按：唐代中央对地方的监察，起初是派员出巡各州，有权罢免或提升地方官吏，后来贞观年间，全国分为十道，每道派京官一人，巡察所属州县，先后称为巡察使、按察使、采访处置使、观察使。）
正公在任江南道观察使期间，励精图治，兴学校，除苛政，廉政爱民，有功于朝廷。这正是在史称“贞观之治”的那个年代。贞观十五年，正值江南道大荒，民不聊生。正公奏准太宗，刚开仓济民，民始宁业，爱正公如父母。太宗嘉其贤，赐其族姓，昭其辛苦之德，合二义而成一字，上古下辛赐之辜焉。由是告林氏祖，更以辜为姓。此即辜氏之所自始。而辜不书古幸而书古辛之所从来。正公乃为辜氏始祖。正公夫人郑氏，生子曰端，字从厚，贞观二十三年，明经擢第，礼部待郎。
弘道年，唐高宗帝崩。正公思念成疾，不幸逝世于弘道癸未元年（公元683年）十一月十九日辰时，葬在莆田紫霄岩三台石畔，享年七十四岁。灯号为“唐皇赐姓”，堂号“晋安堂”，祖祠“嘉德祠”。
赞曰：

伟哉正公，德望功丰。比干英烈，林坚愚忠。效诚纯良，晋安淳风。

勤政廉洁，保唐有功。励精图治，黎民尊崇。太宗隆恩，嘉德锡封。

赐为辜姓，唐皇赐姓，万世同宗。
